Not saying thank you to courteous motorists

There must be some on here that belong to that group as so many people seem to do it
The amount of times I have right of way and delay my journey by a second or 3 and use a bit more wear and tear in my brake pads and discs to allow people out when I have right of way and get completely blanked
Not hard to raise a hand or even a knod of the head in acknowledgment of my gesture
So my question is to those that can’t say thank you is is it a conscious effort that you refuse to have simple manners and wish to portray some kind of image or do you believe it isn’t necessary and I’m a moaning b@*!#d ?

Well said, and i completely agree with you ...... being curteous whilst out on the road cost nothing, and keeps everyone happy ...... anger, ignorance and road rage never did anybody any good, and never will.

The best driver has always been a calm, caring and well mannered one!

It annoys the fuck out of me when the ungrateful bastard doesn't thank me. Ignorant fuckers.

I think the majority of the people that don't acknowledge this sort of thing generally don't thank anyone for anything.
Was in the local offy the other day and some woman is in there with a kid. The kid's all over the shop running havoc while the woman (I think) asked for her cigs, couple of scratchcards and whatever. Not a please or a thank you throughout the whole exchange. Then when she gets her change, its a scream to the other end of the shop for the poor little thing she's bringing up to get his skates on. I doubt that woman has ever said please or thank you in her life. I doubt her kid ever will either.

I only let drivers out of side roads if the traffic on the main road is stop-start or slow moving. If the traffic is flowing normally, braking unexpectedly could possibly cause a problem for an unaware driver behind.
My driving instructor warned me that doing this during a test would not impress the examiner, it would result in a failure. Some drivers will wait for 2,3 or even more cars, just causing a queue of traffic behind.
On my usual route home there is a building at a junction where the car park can be entered from a side road and exits on to the main road. Drivers often use this to cut the corner and jump then they try to force their way out into traffic. To me they are simply queue jumpers.

It really annoys me, probably more than it should, to be honest. When you're going along at the speed limit, and you move into the hard shoulder to let someone pass, and they can't be bothered to give a couple of flashes of the hazard lights (the generally acknowledged "thank you" sign over here). It's just being thick in my opinion. I'll generally respond by switching on the full beams while I'm immediately behind them

Harsh as it seems to condemn an entire nation I have to agree with you on this!

Would you be Belgian, by any chance? Honestly, if the question were put to Kev and Jezza, I think they'd say the same.
And I did mention an important mitigating circumstance. There are just too many cars on those roads. The country is criss-crossed by A roads and motorways. People get short-tempered and discourteous. Anywhere.
