No need to worry about upsetting me, quite happy for any discussions. I asked the question because many of us don't actually know, so its good to read so many opinions (and no I didn't start the topic as WUM topic either).

I'm not sure I'm overly encouraged by the fact that so many are employment "tourists" though, because they could easily overwhelm the minority population if they protested for not being paid well enough, and lets face it many of us even here in the UK, consider we don't get paid enough.

Any show of force against any possible demonstration, no matter how small, and whether by locals or employees, would generate very negative world headlines all round, and City do need to have an owner considered "fit and proper", and while he is not the ruler, he is from the ruling family, who would be judged.

Oh they got a more subtle system than that..They will "Aunt" you, ask the main opposition voice in Dubai who have his own office where it happens that his aunts visit and tell him what a disgrace to his family he is, that his uncle probably missed out on a lucrative contract because of him, that he ought to get married and become a proper lawyer like his father etc etc.

Stop focusing on the pocket money..the real money is in the oilfields.
Which is also why no one will let anything happen in UAE..remember that they got the only pipeline that bypass the Hormuz straits meaning that Iran can´t block the flow of oil totally if it ever comes to that,

Does this affect the oil supply at all? Supply and demand. Sorry if already covered, not read all the posts.

Human race not doing a great job at the moment. Brothers and sisters and all that and no I am not religious at all.
