i cant think of anyone would turn it down. imagine delaps long throws ripping in to the barca defence.
 
Yes, let's not go for 4th, stupid idea. If we do win the qualifyer there's another problem - we're in the CL proper! I'm not sure I'd want us there either - we might lose games! In fact, I don't want us to ever play in the FA cup, Premier League or league cup. Let's just dismantle the team all together, people might laugh at us otherwise 'cause we may lose games! :)

Althoguh more seriously I do slightly understand where you're coming from, the qualifying round will be nervewrecking to say the least. On paper it will probably be a weaker team though. Arsenal got Celtic last year, not an easy fixture but we're definitely better than them. Whoever we get it's over two legs anyway, and if we're forth in the PL we're sure as hell better than most teams in Europe.

Heh, I noticed I'm using wording suggesting it's already a done deal...I am optimistic, but cautiously so...I think we have a good chance, but believe me if we make it I'll be buzzing all summer.
 
I hate reading stuff like this. What's the point of being in the Premier League if we don't aim to finish as high as possible? I'm as pessimistic as the next person, but I'd rather find out if we're good enough to win a CL playoff, than not have us play in it at all.

As is my understanding (never really had much cause to take notice of the CL structure before for obvious reasons) the 4th place team goes into the qualifying rounds against a team from another league and the winner goes into the CL and loser gets F All

I doubt we would be a seeded team so could end uo with a difficult game, which is played before the season starts so many of our players wont have had much time to recuperate from the world cup, and i cant see us buying many until after the world cup, so we could be massively understrenthed and if we lose the play off then were completely out with no europa league to fall back on either, as happened to rangers a couple of seasons ago, and i think that would be a disaster as we need to be competeing in europe,

not saying that i really dont want to finish 4th but it worries me slightly, if we do get 4th ill be having everything crossed for a nice easy tie, so can spend wednesday nights either at coms or in front of the telly when playing away..

If you lose the qualifying match you go to the group stages of Europa League
 
It's been a long, long time since we've been in the top European competition, fortunately I'm old enough to have been there - although it was a disappointment. Maybe we'll be disappointed again - but if you don't buy a lottery ticket you can't win it, so we gotta go and get 4th place - you just never know CTID
 
I've got a date with Christine Bleakley on Friday night.

I'm not going, though, because if I'm not witty and clever, she might not want to go on another one.
