Foden Cherki silva all about not given the ball away they all slow the play down which is great at 2 up! When it’s not 2 up we should be playing 1/2 touch football move faster quicker intent! Last 10 mins we did that! Seems it’s all about control which is great at 2 up!

Think we saw the 0-1 at Leeds because we couldn’t keep the ball which meant we had plenty in the box defending deep! There goals came from transition last night!

It's alarming to watch Diaz - around the 75th minute - bringing the ball forward at walking pace AND going diagonally across the park with no Forest players within 15m of him. No urgency.

Guehi blotted his copybook last night - turned his back on the Anderson shot, instead of fronting it up.

They were both very poor goals to give away, and when you're not having 20 shots like we used to do nearly every match, inevitably points will be dropped.

Sunderland, Chelsea, Brighton, Spurs and Forest: 5 points out of those 15 are killing us. I don't include the United loss as that debacle, with missing players, and at the swamp, was always on the cards.

The unbeaten run continues though, so come on City!!

As frustrating as the result was, I thought we were quite good.

We controlled the game similar to the old days. Also similar to the old days we just conceded with every attack they had. Ha.

We don’t have elite players like De Bruyne who can win us a game.
I know everyone loves Cherki and he’s our man these days but he isn’t the player everyone thinks.

The closet thing to KDB was Anderson’s goal. In fact, it was vintage Kev. Let the ball do the work when triangling the pressing opponent then dispatch with accuracy and authority.

Sadly, he is no longer "young Phil" and should be joining the ranks of senior players, influencing the team and stepping up to win games. In contrast, Nico O'Reilly is a young player who does have a big impact in games.

Foden is not alone with some of our signings who should be at their peak being not up to City standards which doesnt help our younger players.

Yep, can't argue there ....... Foden seemed to finding form again a few months back, but just as quickly lost it again ... at his age now he should be a definite starter and one of the players we can most rely on, yet it doesn't seem to be happening ... and not only for City, his England place has probably long gone too.

The one on Rodri by Anderson should have been looked at. If that happens anywhere else on the field, it's a free kick and probably a card for Anderson. Ref and VAR didn't do their job.

There were many occasions last night where we had the opportunity to break at pace but the ball-player would be waiting for other players, ultimately playing a backwards pass which ended up killing the attack. As soon as this happens we then revert to the routine of passing sideways along the back line, which allows the opposition defenders tons of time to get back into position. I think this rinse and repeat rigid playing style comes with a trade-off of creativity - which has certainly been lacking in a few matches recently.

As for the triple 'one-two's' between certain players when both players stay in exactly the same position - this shit needs to stop, especially when there's a level of urgency needed. We're not the fucking Harlem Globetrotters.

Pep has them playing like that so it doesn’t end end to end but playing end to end football is more dangerous in pep tactical mind but for me it’s the best chance to have more space for our attackers to run into, feel that end to end football gets the crowd more involved too! Pep sets them up at no risk football but the players say pep lets them do what they want in the final 3rd but subconsciously the players 9/10 don’t risk it because pep installs in them keep the ball don’t lose it..

There's something missing in midfield - I think the defence and the forwards are good enough and would both benefit from a stronger midfield, we've got ;-

• Number 10 type players - Foden, Cherki and sometimes Bernardo (depending which role he plays)
• Wingers - Doku, Savinho
• DMs - Rodri, Gonzales

Reijnders isn't good enough or consistent enough for us.

What we don't have is the type of midfielder like KDB anymore that can see a long pass from anywhere on the pitch - I'm not saying that KDB wasn't ready to go, but we need to replace like for near as possible like or we're too predictable.

Foden hasn't been the same since KDB left just like Sterling wasn't the same when David Silva left - these type of players bring the best out of others.

He gave the ball away a few times too. Not his best night but still class.

At one point last night we had 94% possession.

But “dont have enough ball retaining players”.

We're fine on retaining possession but at some point we try to make something happen and lose it. Last night it was a ball fired into Phil who tried to take it on the turn and lost it. 10 second later it's 1-1. We are absolutely woeful still at defending situations where the team wins back possession. For their first goal Ait-Nouri gives Aina too much space and Nunes, I don't know what the fuck he was doing but it certainly wasn't defending. For the second we fail to win the second ball Foden doesn't get tight enough to Anderson and there's way too much space for him to get a shot away. Rodri was on the floor having challenged before, but Bernardo or one of our defenders has to get out earlier to prevent there being so much space.

These are minor things to work on, but they're not things we should be seeing at this stage of a season. 13pts dropped from a winning position. Just 7 of those avoided and we're top with a game in hand. 6pts in three home games this calendar year alone make the difference. And we are all watching City almost expecting the opposition to score. It's far too easy for them still.

The big difference is that the previous Pep side had a killer instinct to go with the control.

When we go into control mode we lose all sense of attacking instinct. The opposition know this and bide their time knowing a chance will come.

We dropped points in winning positions against Brighton, Forest, Chelsea and Spurs. All matches we should have comfortably won.

I think I read that we’ve only scored one PL goal in the second half from open play this calendar year. That’s a shocking statistic for a side with our quality.

Well they've only got 8 games left to play, so any further 'wobble' is gonna have to happen pretty quickly .... they got hammered by the Brighton manager last night for defending too much and time wasting , but at the end of the day, they got the three points, so they won't give a toss what he thinks, they will simply see it as 'job well done'!

Not sure what's going on with Foden, his whole style of play has changed and it's really weird. You would see him on the half-turn all the time before, floating into space and picking it up to go forwards. Now you see him moving into areas that players are already in, when he does get the ball he acts as a bounce-off, giving it back or sideways. You rarely see him making those smart runs into the box either, its all quite strange.

We were decent last night, but so wasteful again. The game should have been killed off, Forest were there for the taking but we just have to accept that this team has a lot of issues with ability to keep concentrated for sustained periods. When they're able to do it, they're really good.
