Nottingham Forest (H) | Post Match Thread

I actually saw signs of it throughout the game Forrest have had a pretty mean offence and Wood has been banging them in on a regular basis, of course there are a few rough edges to smooth off and few tactical tweeks here and there but we played really well against a good team
I thought our second half was better, however they had 8 chances with 2 on target in the first 45 minutes, those were the moments we have been losing games but we didn’t here, we rode our luck at times.

In every game teams will get chances Forrest beat Liverpool at Anfield they are no mugs I believe Jak playing in the middle made a huge difference

Best team performance of the season, if we are nitpicking there were times we were lucky Forest lacked accuracy, but the boys played out of their skins from the whistle and our support was very good. CTID.
Yes - they should have 2 but they were the only real chances they had. But if we’re including chances, Gvardiol should have scored 2 for us & Erl should have had one

A good result to brighten up a miserable evening sat in Blackpool hospital A&E with my dear old mum who is still waiting for a bed. So didn't get to see the game but nice to hear Jack played well and was trusted in the centre where I feel he should be. Hopefully City can kick on from here.

Much better. I boldly predicted a 3-0 win, but not sure I believed it at the time.

A few teething issues in the first half but we were so much more solid in the second. Grealish excellent in the middle of the park - the control we've been lacking. Doku giving them a torrid time and even if he doesn't make something happen everytime he gets the ball, a goal and assist is an excellent return. Haaland trying to get involved more and a general attitude change with players chasing everything and desperate to win the game. Ake and Dias were good. I thought Akanji was a bit poor and Gvardiol still looked low on confidence with a few errors.

Bernardo looked back to his best though.

Only slight issue I had, was the number of times players lost the physical battle. Didn't matter overall, but still need to up that slightly even if Forest have always tended to be one of the dirtier sides in the league.

Nice to win a game for everyone in the club.

The downside is because we have such a ridiculously small squad, with the injuries/age of some of them the result has been many of them having to play far more minutes than they should or be used to. Then as a result they break down injured. Id hope/pray John Stones could take one for the team and play on Saturday, and god knows when Kovacic or Foden can play

No Ake and Akanji on Saturday and maybe longer is a real problem; it will also be difficult to ask KDB at 33, and Gundo at 34, to start again 3 days after playing significant minutes last night. You could chance it but the risk is they both break down and are gone until mid-January.

Saturdays team may not be one we like and will struggle to get a result - the back 4 and midfield will be interesting, but weve dropped ourselves in this mess by not adding to a squad in the summer when it was painfully small and aged.

At a guess

Ederson

Walker
Dias
?
Gvardiol

Grealish
Bernie
Doku
Savinho
Foden or Nunes

Haaland

KDB and Gundo can do cameos when we are 2 down and chasing the game
