Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

Perhaps you then if you want to represent the panel? You cannot put your hands on the neck of an opposing player. What kind of Pandora's box are we hoping to open up if that's not a red?

Rodri is a brilliant player and we should expect better. He will learn from this and we will continue marching on.
In the heat of the moment...anything can happen.
Depends what was said.and what went on before....
Rodri did what he thought he had to.at that time. I support him.
Top player.A class above anything Notts forest put out on the pitch.
If their managers game plan included...let's get at Rodri ,fair enough.
But if the red ref allows the snide challenges, and takes no action, then you,as a player, have to stand up for yourself.
My honest opinion is,Rodri has gone up in my estimation.
The forest player is a nobody who flung himself to the ground...a grown man, carrying out the facade which so many of us are sick of seeing in the modern game..

Godri.enjoy your rest.
Time for another blue soldier to step up...

Well said.
Play acting cheating c--t.

I'm sure Phillips won't let us down.

Not sure I get this "applying a higher bar" thing we all seem to have accepted. Why would a referee apply a higher bar? In what circumstances would the referee want to? If a higher bar is applied to normal offences and yellow cards, why not to red cards? Does the higher bar apply to VAR reviews as well? To violent conduct?

Let's call it what it is: inconsistent refereeing over the course of a season, even over a weekend. And, as @SebastianBlue tells us, inconsistency in applying rules, if uncorrected, is a corruption of the system. This isn't just uncorrected, it is actually welcomed.

At the very least, it's a naive attempt by the officials to improve "the product" but, when you have someone like Taylor in charge, it often becomes a war zone which has the opposite effect as the less-skilled team abuses the added leeway.

Just be completely consistent throughout the season. A yellow card offence is just that: in game one or game thirty-eight, first minute or ninety-fifth minute, broadcast live or not.
