We travel over 500 miles to attend a game and it sticks in the craw that it is ruined as a spectacle by the referee. So so biased and he will be on a Brucie bonus for sending Rodri off. Some other observations:
I thought we were great in the first 20 minutes and poor for the remainder of the half - energy dropped albeit we still controlled the game. After Rodri went we lost control for a good period. Anyone doubting how important he is to our possession based football got to see what life is like without him in spades. Philips lacks the positional awareness and physicality to do a decent job in the role albeit he made a couple of good runs. For 20 minutes nobody seemed capable of playing keep ball. Things improved when we started playing long and improved further when Jack came on. We showed character and resilience in the second half but little else. Thought the crowd rallied and created a great deal of support for the team.

See I'm not a ST holder myself but when chants like 'Come On City' and 'Blue Moon' ring around the ground I can't help but want to join it but it's a shame when the people next to you make you feel like you're the only one singing it so you refrain from singing it. I had people around me taking too many pictures and videos during the games of free kicks etc. Had a guy near me to me even recording the screen when the VAR decision went up for the red card (wtf?). I'll be getting a ticket closer to the singing section or the south stand next time. I was lucky enough to be in 308 for the Madrid semi last year and despite the fact I'm a bit scared of the height, I will never forget the atmosphere during that game. Also going to add that it's slightly annoying when people happily come in late and try and find the seat and obstruct your view of the game. Everyone has their reasons for being late and I respect that, but too many people do it for me.

I agree with what you said, I think it was a good win but we needed to go for the jugular after the second goal and score a third before half time. I don't know why but the game and atmosphere fell flat after the second goal went in for the remainder of the half. Again like you said, I felt once the red card happened and ederson's YC, it was very tense for me, but I also was a bit surprised that forest didn't do much. The crowd overall were good, heard 'Come on City' start in one of the blocks around the north stand at one point and thought it was quite classy. Also saw Pep rally the crowd and thought that helped too.

Taylor: Think back to West Ham two seasons ago. It's 2-2 in the penultimate game of the season and a City player (Sterling IIRC) is fouled in the box. A clear penalty but not given by Taylor so VAR steps in and he's asked to look at the screen. He changes his mind and Mahrez misses.
The point is that it looked nailed on at normal speed and VAR is there to help the refs. But VAR shows all the angles, and it looked a foul from every single camera angle. Worse still, many camera angles showed Taylor had an uninterrupted view of the incident. So why didn't he award it?
At this point I'd like no replies from those who say he's useless, corrupt or a rag tosser. Or any combination of those.
I want an explanation from those who think he's none of those things. He had a clear view of a foul in the box but didn't give the penalty. And had he given it and VAR thought he was wrong they could overrule him. HE DIDN'T GIVE A PENALTY BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE A PENALTY.
And it's bloody worrying because he is one of the better (or least worse) refs when City aren't involved.
Rodri got punished for being a dick, Taylor will probably be rewarded for it.

I think you've answered your own question there.
I know you said you didn't want this as an answer but if you've said that your opinion is he didn't give it because he didn't want to then Taylor is a cheating **** plain and simple.

Rodri should've had the foul twice, well before the set to. Gibbs White was at him, with no intention of getting the ball.
 
Well not sure what to say about that game. 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes and coasting. Everyone was settling down for a comfortable afternoon and maybe adding a few more goals and then the rot set in. We got sloppy, uncharacteristically giving the ball away then losing our tempo and rhythm. Forest started kicking fuck out of us, going down injured and generally spoiling the game. Aided and abetted by that utter fraud and cheat of a "Ref" Taylor. He really needs looking at that clown.

In the second half we just imploded with the Rodri sending off. I have absolutely no idea what kicked that off from absolutely nothing in the corner. Insane from Rodri to do what he did. We seemed to totally lose our composure for a good while. Ederson getting involved later for nothing which was a huge risk with Taylor as the ref we could have been down to nine. Normally even with ten men we keep the ball well and still dominate, bizarely today we didn't. We appeared to just sit back and let Forest have the ball. Haaland could have made life easier if he'd scored that chance near the end, not sure how difficult it was as I'm in the south stand.

Big performances from Foden, Dias and Eddie, two great saves at the end and some good catches. A special mention to Phillips who really steadied the ship when he came on.

Rodri is obviously going to be a huge miss. He is irreplaceable. Nunez and Gvardiol gave the ball.away too often and the former got shrugged off it too easily. They're still settling in of course.

In the end we'll take the three points but at a high cost. We desperately need Bernie back for Arsenal.

First 20 minutes were excellent. The first goal came after 46 passes (2nd highest in PL history), the 2nd a great cross and header… The game was then over and we coasted til HT.

Rodri’s red card was very harsh and he got ‘done’ by that shit house Gibbs White; should have known better. I thought Gibbs White put his head to Rodri’s face, encouraging a response. On the radio they said it appeared that Forest were told at HT to ‘get into City, particularly Rodri as he was on a Yellow’.

The 2nd half showed we can defend as a team, all worked their bollocks off, including the figure of hate, Phillips. Erling should have scored from Ake’s cross, but he put a good shift in to win the game. Great rousing 2nd half from the fans too. Well done to everybody today.

Taylor let Forest get away with shit like that all afternoon both before and after the sending off.
I noticed that and shouted that it was a foul just before it kicked off as I couldn't believe Taylor didn't give it.
Reminded me of the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen which coincidentally was also the fake Altrincham fan v Chelsea in Pep's first season.
Coincidentally we had players sent off that day too after Taylor failed to control the match and let opposition players kick and foul with impunity safe in the knowledge that they'd get away with it.
He'll be having Sunday lunch with his Rag season ticket holding brothers tomorrow with high fives all round.
Gibbs-Shite is one cheating **** too, rolling around like he had been shot then recovered miraculously as soon as he realised Rodri was off.
Aren't referees supposed to caution players for simulation?
Watched it back and noticed Foden got a dig in the chest from Gibbs-Shite too.
He's an obnoxious twat with a face you would never get tired of smacking, fake hard man who shits the bed when anyone gives him a bit back.
