Nottm Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Goal aside the first half we were poor. We looked like we were still eating Christmas dinner. Our pace of play was slow, passes were either under or over hit and we were not all on the same wavelength.
A better second half where I feel we did compete a bit more, once we got the second half I think we controlled the play - mostly.
As for the winning goal, there are scuffles like that at every set piece into the box. You could just as easily make a claim for a foul on Haaland.
Their Brazilian forward spent more time sat on his arse, mostly put there by his own hand than any of our players. I noticed Dyche didn't mention the suds high challenge on Foden's knee either.
Anyway, good three points for us, we had to dig deep and really push ourselves at the end.
Several players need shooting practice.

Had to fight for that, against a physical team that bizarrely featured a centre forward who should be wearing a ballet tutu.

Shows our growth, last year hugely debatable whether we win that or cave in, shows the squad character.

They could have disallowed our winning goal, but gibbs white did go down very easily. It's the kind of decision where refs nowadays wait and see. If Nico scores there it's likely knocked off but gibbs white has the chance to get back up and affect the play. He could have blocked it, luck of the draw. I'd say it's karma for the way they threw themselves all over the floor for free kicks throughout the game..

The referee wasn't great at all, despite that decision for us. He carded Nico and replays showed him being fouled and Nico not actually touching the other player. Of course, Forest wanted a penalty and I think he capitulated and gave the foul and yellow as a middle ground. But he didn't card that wet wipe for tackling Foden in the knee, despite a var check for a red card. Arguably that player should have seen three yellows in that match, one for diving, one for the Foden kick and one for asking for another player to be booked.

TNT spent a while praising their centre forwards plays too, despite the fact replays were repeatedly showing him going down before the ball arrived. In one play he does that, the ball is headed to Gibbs White who looks for the through ball, only his forward is busy scampering back up off the floor after yet another Tom Daly special.
Since when did "physical" mean a bunch of diving gits ? the ref just bought every single dive from them, otherwise they would've barely threatened our goal.

The result and performance today aside, the officiating in our games is getting worse, that was absolutely pathetic from the referee today.

Let's get it straight, the foul on Cherki in the box when he got cleaned out by Milenkovic along with the Jesus studs to the knee on Foden would both be given if we wore red shirts.

Sean Dyche constantly banging the drum about the "bigger" sides going down easily and getting decisions, his players dropping to the ground every two minutes without being touched is something the fat bastard won't bring up today. Unfortunately those cunts won't go down.
Over on tS Dyche said he doesn't like to talk about officials and then proceeded on a full rant for 2 minutes how they were shafted. :)
It seems every tough win for us is helped by refs somehow. And the very moment we overtake Ars that magic number 115 will be all over media.

I thought it was a great game of football, and credit to Forest for playing their part.

We took our chances brilliantly, and defended very well. Both Dias and Gvardiol were outstanding at the back, as was González in front of them. The attacking players, especially Foden and Cherki, stepped it up in the second half.

The ginger PEG is moaning about the officiating, but I thought the referee let a lot go for both teams.

We’re back on top, and we’re coming after you, cheating Arsenal!
