What I don't understand is why any pro club in this country - all four divisions - would want to hire someone to coach a team to avoid playing football and avoid defeat. Considering the millions of guys that play football in this country, all pro players represent a microscopic slice of the total number of players. All pro players are elite to some extent or other - in this context, as well as having a City seasoncard I watch some of the clubs seven levels down the pyramid. By any reasonable metric, some of these players are outstanding - wingers and goalpoachers that rarely miss. So, in the Prem, why are relatively outstanding players with real skill and mentality, coached to play anti football. Surely all pro players want to play football that shows everyone just how good they are? And here we are - clubs paying the Dyche's of this world millions of pounds to play like San Marino. With San Marino et al, it's understandable when half the team are postmen, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers, for them to park the bus. But for clubs in the Prem (they've all won the Lottery with billionaire/multibillionaire owners) it's pathetic to organise super wealthy players into a San Marino formation.
