Notts County Away

I believe that The Casa is no more and is now a restaurant named 'The Riverside', unless I am confused with another pub.

Yeah its confirmed on the fa website, but then on the itv website its got us down for the saturday aswell, as if they haven't made a decision.

any1 no when the tickets go on sale?

According to Notts County website their tickets go on sale from today and apparently we have been allocated the whole of the Jimmy Sirrell stand. Anybody know how many tickets this equates to? £23 by the way

It happens everytime I come on other boards offering a bit of info and banter - someone brings up Hughesys private life and it all goes to pot.

I wont comment further on the matter, but will still be happy to answer any questions about us :-)

any goods pubs local to the ground

Last time i was down there was for the 3 - 2 defeat and the riot - pretty much went off everywhere near to the ground

Bringing my youngest lad (12) so would obviously like to avoid any trouble spots

There arent really any trouble areas around the ground. I like to think that as a club and fanbase we are quite welcoming and consider ourselves a family club, any days of trouble from our fans are long gone back into the 80's. I would say just that the Meadow Lane Sports Bar is home fans only and that while the Navi isnt strictly home fans, I wouldnt advise taking at 12 year old there; but there are plenty of other pubs in just a small area around the ground.

There are plenty of pubs

Yep, been said already on this thread mate. 5000 tickets give or take a couple of hundred as a Notts County fan said.

Whilst it would be amazing to get 5000 tickets for this game, I really for the life of me cannot see it happening.

Notts Countys biggest home gate this season appears to have been the 11,000 plus that watched the game against Sheffield Wednesday , and that was probably watched by a full travelling support ...... they had 10,000 against Huddersfield , and 9,000 when Southampton visited ....... other than that their home gates appear to have hovered between the 4,000 - 6,500 mark ......

i think the ground holds around 17,000 , so allowing City 5,000 tickets is probably their best way of guaranteeing a full house.

When we went there in 1985 for that promotion game around 13,000 City fans showed up in a crowd of just under 18,000 !

I rang the club up earlier to be told the game will be "most likely" to be on the Sunday and the tickets would "most likely" go on sale tomorrow.

Who employs these mongs? Why can't they just give me a straight answer.

Anyway, looking forward to it be a top day out on the piss!

Now I'm usually well up for a game of City ticket office bashing, but in fairness they probably have as much idea of when the game is, and when the tickets go on sale as we do.

The ticket office staff rarely do 'straight answers' ...... it's seen as a bit of a 'grey area' within their job description

only fans with 5,000 loyalty points , or more , get straight answers ... unless you can't produce a seasoncard , in which case your straight answer could come indirectly!

fans with 4,000 loyalty points get 'sketchy' answers , usually delivered with an accompanying grunt

fans with 3,000 loyalty points get answered the following day , after lunch time , providing the phone system hasn't exploded

fans with 2,000 loyalty points get answered in March , or after an early FA Cup exit , whichever comes first

and fans with less than 1,000 loyalty points generally don't get answered at all!

Yeah, we have a core of around 5000-6000ish supporters who are usually there each week (we had a bit less in the middle of this season due to a run of bad form triggering the fickleness of some fans). For the Huddersfield/Sheffield Wednesday/Southampton games we gave them the whole Jimmy Sirrell stand which can hold up to 5000 when there are no restrictions, thus far I think it has maxed out at just under 4000 away fans due to the restrictions (which are now lifted to 17500 OR 20500, not 100% sure). Also the occasions like playing the bigger teams in the league gets more longer distance fans coming through, which will no doubt happen against you lot. Expect over 10,000 Notts fans at the game.

I've looked on national rail and it appears there are no direct trains to Nottingham on Sunday morning. Only three trains will get you there on time, albeit the last one is cutting it fine, and all involve a change at Sheffield. But there are direct trains on the way back. What's that all about?
All this before one takes into account the risk of being slapped and called a 'shitbag' by some random Dingle

Could it not be that you get a load of people who aren't Notts County fans at all wanting to buy a ticket because it's a Premiership club you are playing, thus ensuring City get less of an allocation than Huddersfield, Sheff Wednesday or Southampton did? If it's going to sell out, your club would probably prefer to sell to people who are going to support Notts County on the day even if they are not real fans.

Notts will sell out no doubt about it.
