Now we’ve got Pep Guardiola… (Oasis)

nah, slowly we would be just like scousers with the beatles.

Manchester music scene is more than oasis
I don’t think Liverpool or Everton play any Beatles songs tbf

Don’t look back in anger in my opinion is the defining Manchester song. You couldn’t get any more city related either with oasis. We’ve played wonderwall before, which I don’t think works as well.

Everyone would know the words, it’s uplifting and it’s miles better than hey Jude. Come on mate, it makes so much sense.

ah ok. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating one of the most successful Manchester bands ever. The Manchester music scene will always be more than just oasis anyway. Signing it at city doesn’t change that.

I’m not dismissing hey Jude, I’d just rather we sing this Manchester classic instead. It would be perfect.

To be fair the club don’t often play hey Jude either now

No issue with oasis songs being used, but sometimes some blues cannot see beyong trying to use them (not saying you btw) when. we have tonnes of iconic mancunian music to choose from,

Also tbh DLBA is always the go to song people.choose and is now permemntly linked in the arena bombing tributes, which I think is fitting and when the song is thought of in a manchester sense rememberance those that passed is more fitting

apparently none of them liked footy, which is why the dippers especially haven't been able to claim them.

I know Everton play The La's because Lee Mavers is a fan

I'd rather us play Oasis than Hey Jude, even though I'm not huge Oasis fan but its certainly more fitting

The only ever Beatles-related reference (that I know of) to football is John Lennon's drawing on one of his solo album covers

I'm always surprised the question or any reference to Liverpool FC or Everton never came up during any interviews during the 1960s (as far as I'm aware), perhaps the crossover between music and football culture just wasn't a thing in the 60s
