Design for the new stadium finally out
That's pretty much the way to go here in the States. Philadelphia was stupid not to put their stadium in the sports district. The infrastructure is all in place and by putting it alongside Citi field, you have the parking to get the suburbanites and the public transportation to transport the locals.Interesting that it is right next to Citi Field.

Oh, I know—I’ve actually watched a NYCFC playoff game at Citi Field (and gone to see a few US Open matches), so have experienced fully getting out to the meadows and have walked the area. That's pretty much the way to go here in the States. It certainly beats what RBNY did, as I have been out there for several derbies and that trek (and the area, at least back when I went) is miserable.
I meant more that it is interesting that being partly owned by the Yankees group, and after playing at Yankee Stadium for so long, they’ll now be heavily affiliated (by proximity, which in American sports, eventually means fan acquisition) with the Mets. ;-)

I went there when we played them in a friendly, around 2010 and it felt like an endless traipse around a half-abandoned industrial estate to get there. I landed at Newark just the other day and we came in right by it. It doesn’t look like it’s improved much.It certainly beats what RBNY did, as I have been there for several derbies and that trek (and the area, at least back when I went) is miserable.
