NYCFC / MLS 2023 Thread

I was looking over all the renderings (and the site elevation, as it shows it’s orientation to Citi Field and the existing campus), and while it is likely a lot more functional and ultimately scalable, I am surprised by how much less grand it is compared to a few recent new MLS stadiums. Even compared to Red Bull Arena it looks more workman (more akin to a mid-population Championship city ground than a bigger city PL one).

Just seems out of keeping with the club’s established (and likely desired) persona.

A. New York City cannot support and fill a large PL stadium
B. The simple fact that it is a brand new stadium in the City of New York is enough to make it the most impressive stadium in the league imho.

I wasn’t refering to the size, mate. I have gone to many of their games (home and away), so know very well the size of their crowds.

I was referring to the design looking quite pedestrian.
