The story is not entirely serious but is a bit of jockeying. No need to bridle at it. I wouldn’t want to be saddled with a rep for planting false tails. That’s the mane thing.

Great name for a horse, as a kid in the 60's I used to ride a bay pony called Trigger, he was considered a safe ride for beginners. However, once off the leading rein I progressed to his faster, more belligerent, black pony brother, can't say what he was called but you can probably guess and it 100% wouldn't be allowed now.

It’s got a PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) Order of Merit, which the PDSA gives out quite regularly. Previous recipients include Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Stormy Daniels.

Lord Firebrand was awarded the PDSA Order of Merit for his devotion to duty and service to society from 2013 to 2023. So no, not an OBE but then why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

I have no problem with a horse getting an OBE. I have more issues with Charlotte Owen, Michelle Mone and every one of Johnson's harem/offspring getting a peerage

I would like to award a knighthood to The Rock of Gibraltar.
He was an outstanding horse on the race course.
But his services to football are unprecedented...

The public can nominate someone with enough signatures I think?
