Not putting Stevie straight back in also sends out the right message. If you come in and do a job, you get to keep the shirt. That's the way it should be - no favourites. The players know if they don't perform they will be out of the side double quick.

We really have got a team full of great players. Its great that not one player can go through a dip and be guaranteed a start, Superman can be forgiven for his hard work, but its great to see Micah benched until he gets his position into perspective. I cant remember the last time we have been able to bench such players as we have options just as good as cover.
Oh boy, I forgot Vinny! Come to think of it, I forgot Benjani as well. ;) Personally I would like to see Superman start tonight, but I understand why he has been left out, and I have no idea who he should have replaced.

No such problems for Aston Villa new boy Richard Dunne as he faces former club City for the first time since his move. Great reception from the travelling fans.
