Official Barca v City match thread

It was a great defensive display,sometimes you have no choice but to play like City did tonight,if i remember rightly Chelsea defended over two games against them in last seaons Champions League.With Barcelona having 71% possesion over the two legs.And just look what they done to that lot from the swamp.If you try to out play them with football they will rip you apart with there passing game.So over all I think we done well tonight.
 
Fantastic result that for City.

Okay they were ahead on the corner count and overall playing percentage , but you'd expect that ..... and they were unlucky with the two that came back off the woodwork ...... but what a morale booster for us this was ....... City beat the European Champions on their own patch .... fantastic experience for us!

And didn't our young uns' do well!

Mubarak must be delighted.
 
I am elated at this result. Congrats to the players and coaching staff for such a great performance. This match was no joke and we showed our heart, determination, and of course all around awesomeness, AWAY.
 
the goal came straight from the training ground, tuesday morning that is what they where trying to do but couldn't hit a barn door lol, three on the break the rest defending
 
A great result from City but I find it a bit strange that their is nothing on Sky Sports News about it !

Alright it only a friendly but it was against the Champions League Winners who beat both U@d and Chelsea last year !

And of course we are the richest club in the world !

They had other pre-season friendles with trophies on live !

We should not go over board, it was a friendly, but what a pleasure to see the blues not just coping but competing well away to the European champions. It is definitely a great night.

great game and packed stadium...

We defended for our lives at times and only had 35% possession but when Barca get the ball they never lose it.
We were sweatiung our nuts off, not sure how hot it was but Nedum was sweating before kick off lol.

Weiss/Ireland/Dunne played well.. Barry had quite a few misplaced passes.

When Zlatan and Messi came on I thought we'd get thumped but thankfully the post and crossbar saved us.
No Xavi, Iniesta, Henry but thought Yaya was absolute quality as per usual.

Good to see us playing against the best.

We might get tonked, but i'd take a 6-0 drubbing over winning and one or two getting injured and missing prem games. i dont know what makes me smile more-the fact we beat the chumps league winners or that man ure got beat by lil ol burnley,We actually defended las nite -the classic what i call "england world cup backs 2 the wall formation" after we go down 2 ten men we hav 2 lines of 4 +thas roughly what we did las nite.but the lines were tight+barca i noticed roam offside quite a lot .How sweet was that pass from ireland to petrov? I only saw 3 players missin from barcas line up+ 2 or 3 from ours .I would have expected robby 2 play but was glad to see weiss,what a talent+tevez is gonna be so cool with ireland+robby,his vision is excellent+he thinks several passes ahead.Great result-friendly-schmendly!

I see in the MEN's report that it was the best attendance since Stoke played Barcelona in 1934. You have to admire good research and articulate grammar.
