Official Chelsea v Manchester City Match Thread

What really annoys me is when players applaud a pass that is completely way off the mark. Can never understand it.

that last comment by joe cole in the studio shows how little he knows.....

"anelka isnt going to lose a yard on anyone"............except maybe a guy who used to be a english school boys sprint champ and is probably one of the fatest players in the prem without the ball at his feet......eh Joe......idiot!!!!!

there could be something in the air this weekend.

rags 1 - 4 bindippers?

chelsea 1 - 2 man city?

from an earlier post i made. keep the faith lads (and lasses)

I like your perverse logic there :)

someone has to do it. not like some posters on here!

oh my is anyone watching the setanta feed (I think its the US one) crapping on about the shout for penalty for Anelka. Absolutely clueless talk- it wasn't one penalty according the chelseaite but 2 penalties! And according to him, the referee should judge on the players involved- he should know that noone can catch up a yard on Anelka and thus it has to be a foul. I can stand a bit of bias, but ridiculous talk pisses me off no end.

Seen worse but a strong holding midfield player is a big miss. Might be a different story with De Jong or Kompany or both.

Caiceido needs support.

Robinho needs to look more interested. Has he been getting on people's nerves lately? He's been getting on mine a bit.

am i alone thinking that cas is having a decent game? won the majority of his headers, strong, not had any clear cut chances but he is playing on his own against ricky and terry

He's not having a good game but he is not as bad as people are making out. It is tough for someone like Drogba to play against Carvalho and Terry let alone a 20 year old kid on his own.

Its a pity about the soft goal we let in, though I'm not sure it was a foul that led to the free kick. Anelka went down awfully easily imo. We are getting overwhelmed, but it was hardly unexpected with us missing De Jong and Kompany and I actually think we have done ok overall. If we would stop trying the hopeful long ball (I'm looking at you Elano!) and keep the ball on the ground and play some football when we actually get some possession, we have a bit of a hope.

We have looked quite decent the few times we have done this so far. We will have to keep riding our luck and hope Chelsea waste their chances, but I feel we are going to create at least 1 or 2 genuine chances and we have to take them. It could be far worse- a ruthless team could have it at 3 or 4 nil already.

i think you will find that a number of players have been guilty of this.....ireland bridge and dunnehave all done the same........

get off elano's back....he is at least trying to open up chelsea
