Yes, but that's because his sides always concede at least 3 goals per game.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Manchester City are ready to make a massive statement of intent with an audacious £75million triple striker swoop.

The Eastlands club confirmed yesterday that they have held preliminary talks over a deal to bring Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o to Manchester.

And with negotiations at an advanced stage over Paraguay international Roque Santa Cruz, manager Mark Hughes could have an embarrassment of riches.

But it emerged yesterday that City are still confident of landing Carlos Tevez, with the striker considering his future as his temporary deal at Manchester United ends at the end of the month.

Reports have suggested that City's Arab owners are prepared to offer Eto'o £200,000 a week after tax, but while that is wildly off the mark, talks have taken place, with the Cameroon star set to be tempted with an offer of £7m a year.

City have yet to agree a fee with Barca for the 29-yearold, but it seems he will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp after failing to agree a new deal there.

Officials from the English club have been in Spain for talks, and are confident they will get their man for around £25m.

Santa Cruz should join within the next few days for a fee of around £15m from Blackburn.

Hughes will still pursue Tevez because there are fears that striker Craig Bellamy will not be fit for the start of the season.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

There must be something in it as it was a resonable story
and it would have been cash rich money laden citeee ruining football again as usual

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

AC milan are interested, Inter are INTERested, Barca want to keep him.....

None can match our spending.

Think its going to go to the wire. Champ league football over money? I hope not

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

TBH I don't think he'll be joining full stop. Inter Milan have also held talks with Barca and it appears they've moved to the head of the queue. They have Champions League and prestige as well. We only have money which, unless you're a total mercenary, ain't enough for top footballers. It's all about prizes and standing a chance to win them. At the moment we don't.
