Just a thought but what if Real suddenly came in for him?
Barca would not sell him to them

That. And Eto'o hates Madrid. He hates them ever since his Madrid days.

This.

Exactly, Eto'o definitely feels the political side of things against Madrid, even though he's not a native it's gotten too him from his time at Mallorca and especially Barca. What was it he shouted through a megaphone when barca won the league the other year? Certainly not nice things about Madrid...that's the last place I see him going anyway.

A rags veiw of Eto'o

Paying £30m for a 27-year old like Berbatov is different than paying £30m for a 28-year old like Eto'o. Berbatov relies purely on his technique and class whereas one of Eto'o's main assets is his pace. Berbatov will likely carry on playing at the same level until mid 30s, for Eto'o it is a downhill only after he reaches 30. You pay for 6 to 8 years of Berbatov's service in one case and for 3 years of Eto'o's service in the other case.

Feel free to add your own lols

Hey if they'd rather have berbatov than Eto'o then good for them, I'm happy for them

Of course I'd rather have Eto'o for 3 years than Owen for 9 Minutes! Ouchy!

This rag obviously doesn't realise that Berbatov is shit.

Everything indicates that the relationship between FC Barcelona and Samuel Eto'o is the point of reaching its end. But after five seasons at the club azulgrana, the legacy of the front has gone beyond his goals. The player, very committed to the needs of his country, brought 14 young Cameroonians who went to Barcelona to join the football club for their great talent.

Although the player, 28 years, leave the discipline of the ship and ends up accepting the tempting offer from Manchester City, the young continue to be part of the club, which has seen the high quality of the players, it is continue to be responsible for sports training and education of 14 young Cameroonians.

Since the arrival of Eto'o FC Barcelona, Cameroon has been following with interest and affection path Barça in all competitions and from now on, although the striker, who made 100 goals with the Barça shirt, leave the Catalan capital to start a new adventure in United Kingdom, Barça will be twinned with the African country.
In Cameroon have been 'threatened' to follow very closely the development of their young and are convinced that Agune days they will write letters of gold in the history of a club who have been in the heart.

Here's to hoping.

El mundo deportivo still saying that Valencia are digging their heels in over Villa because they are due to be taken over (nothing major like our takeover - just enough to finance the new stadium project) they don't actually need to depserately sell. Only problem is, Villa was promised a transfer last season if he stayed for one year...which he did. Villa wants to go to Barca so it looks like player power and common sense will prevail in the long run.

But if the lose Villa i can't see them selling Mata and Silva if they don't need the money so much. In any case i'd imagine they'll move on for Forlan who has a 36m euro release clause if they can't reach a deal with Valencia.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

This really made me laugh...

Manchester United also inquired about Eto’o this summer but it seems unlikely that Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager, will sign another striker now that Michael Owen has joined on a free transfer.
