We DIDN'T offer Eto'o 250k per week, just pay parity with Robinho at 160k per week. His agent thought we'd pay the extra to Barca for his 'loyalty bonus' and so get his cash that way. It's become clear that he won't budge because in a year he can leave Barca for free and get the big amount he's after now (possibly from City if we're not paying a transfer fee). City pre-empt any potential rejection.
