Well done City! Disappointed not to get him, but delighted we decided how this transfer story went. This is where we become big enough to start dictating to the football world.
im city thorough and through but imo,,ur kiddin urself m8

Sorry if people who still hold out some hope think I'm being negative but Cook's statement yesterday was clearly preparation for missing out on Eto'o.

Still, have to agree with quinninho, we've done the right thing. From now on these clubs and players won't be pissing us about as though we're going to wait around forever, and will know they need to get their arse in gear if they want the prize.

Eto'o will sit out another year at Barca and not be as motivated, as welcome or as happy (the fans hate him now and Guardiola clearly wanted him moved out). Barca don't have the cash to fund their bid for Villa.

We may still get him this time next year, who knows.

Have now been given a snippet of an update re my earlier post.

It's on. Both Barca and Eto's lawyer/agent are now negotiating some sort of severence deal.

His agent has told City that Eto'o does want to come to us - he is the only point of reference both clubs has needed so far.

Although, a low level in the food chain at City in terms of sources (and, by that, not a direct board member/tea lady etc), he's good for it.

Has also heard later this afternoon that some press may have got wind of something for tomorrow, but he is only passing on third hand info with regards this at present.

here we go again...

Fuck him.

who eto'o yeah ure right if you meant etoo screw him, I realy didnt see a reason why would buy him anyways.

Haha, they say ignorance is bliss!

We'd sign him because he's one of the best at what he does, score goals and win matches.

Well etoo is fantastic yes nobody denied that, but heres a thing, when you watch barca's season highlights you would notice that eto'o would score 36 and miss 40.Thats becuase his composure is not that good.

He also would come here only to play for the money, he might score against teams ala blackburn and bolton but not against top teams.

He also seems to have problems with english teams, he only scored one goal against an english team and that was the rags.

We need someone who would play his heart out for the club, not just get payed and do nothing.

Cheers.

2. We give barca one in the face and put a MEGA bid for villa that valencia cannot simply resist, thus we sign david villa and they are left with a very unhappy etoo and no david villa.

Oh and this is my first post so i hope im welcome.

cheers.

This i would love but cannot see Villa leaving spain...

Be Careful UAE before you know it you`ll have stalkers checking you IP or believing you are an ADUG emmisary sent to lift moral whilst preparing the way for our new "surprise"

It's the final of celeb masterchef tonight - hate that po-faced cow who used to be in corrie - so along with eating my chippy tea - will try to get on later tonight.

No PMs please, will continue to post any info in the public forum for everyone to weigh up for themselves.

CTID

p.s - can anyone sense a degree of excitement on my part? In Lay Man's terms - I'm fookin' foaming out the mouth and praying Ewan Thomas wins celeb masterchef with a bavarois of vanilla and pecans.

Oh, and Sammy boy playing in sky blue!

OMG I bet you feel like a CNUT now![/quote]

You're an idiot! People who reported that it was done were only passing on what they knew. GC does something uncharacteristic and ITK's were supposed to know?? Get a grip!
