Official - City end interest in Eto'o [merged]

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Laporta as president of Barca FC was voted in, and consequently can be voted out. This means that PR is a key factor in his role.
Selling a top player, one who won you the CL is never going to be a popular move, so all this media circus is an attempt to soften the blow.

All this squabbling points to Eto'o exiting the club. MH as usual is not letting much on, but publicly acknowledging that a bid was made is definitely positive. The club are not about to publicise failed bids.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

I am past caring anyway. I would rather have Klaas-Jan Huntelaarfrom Madrid than Eto any day. With all the forwards they are signing he will defo be available.

2004–2005 Heerenveen 46 (33)
2005–2009 Ajax 92 (76)
2009– Real Madrid 20 0(8)
2006– Netherlands 23 (13)

Hes only 25 and look at his goal scoring record. Be a miles better signing that ETO IMO.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Right I'm not happy, I want to see Eto'o confirmed as number 9, for Man City.

Not necessarily. City have just stated what is now public knowledge. Failure could still occur but the important bit here is it would not be down to City. Any failure will be because Eto'o & Barca couldn't come to an agreement and that is what would be publicised.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Look, the mere fact that the half-wits in the media aren't really reacting at all to this news suggests to me that nobody needs to read anything sinister into MH's remarks today. The sensationalising dickheads in the papers and likes of Talk Shite and SSN would have jumped all over it if it carried anything of significance news wise. Look how quick they were to suggest that Eto had "snubbed" City based on the fact that his agent had called a press conference.

MH has no choice but to publicise the bid, every twat and his dog knows about it.
as much as id love to se eto'o in sky blue this year i have a horrible feeling that if a CL. club came in he would be off there quicker than you can say 'laporta's a knob'

we've held are end up very well- as usual. I think you have to question Laporta's motivation for this barca sh*t show.

^^^ This.

Didn't Alves, the bust at Middlesbore who only seemed to score against us, score a stupid number of goals in the Dutch League too? He looks a liability in the Prem.
