Official City v AaB Match Thread.

I know they were in the CL league and got knocked out, and scored 2 at Old Trafford and what-not, but they are currently 5th in the Danish Superliga, 11 points from qualifying for next years UEFA Cup (3rd place) and are 16 points behind first place Copenhagen, who, we recently just dispatched. Not that we can take anyone lightly, but I think we've seen the best Denmark has to offer. It would be embarrassing if we don't go through.

Midtjylland are currently in 4th, 6 points ahead of AaB.

Reading this thread has just made me realise what a big big game this is for City on Thursday! We need a big cushion if were to stand a chance of getting through. If we do go through were in the 1/4 finals of a major European competition and anything can happen then!!

Aab are not recomended by the bookies and they are never wrong 'well not often' the odds above indicate this is our big chance, from the early stages when we got that last minute goal i have said our name is on it

Until I read this, I honestly thought we might somehow scrape through as we were playing a half decent side. As we generally play rubbish against crappy teams (eg. Brighton, Forest, Stoke, WBA etc.) you can rest assured that we will sink to their level. My view remains that the tie will be settled in the last five minutes in Denmark, possibly involving a hotly disputed penalty...hopefully taken by Elano.

im getting nervous, Aab were garbage again at the weekend drawing with FC Nordsjaelland. haping up to be a disaster.

How they are doing in the national league this season should'ent be taken to seriously. They lost the coach that won the national league last season. They ended up with bruce rioch (old bolton and arsenal coach) in august. In the first 10 matchs afterward they lost proberly 6 matchs, 3 draw, and 1 win (and losing any chance of winning the danish league that season). Rioch was sacked in november for the ekstremly poor result. The old assistcoach took over and found the old fighting spirit who gave them the champienship.

So in the 14 matchs after Rioch was sacked they are now (still) undefeated - while playing against teams like Mancester United Away and Depotivo.
