Official City v Copenhagen Thread.

On the question of Elano, I saw him warming up a couple of times in front of me ages before he came on and he just looked kind of bored. His passing was poor apart from one long pass to SWP. However he has to be in the squad. I thought Kompany worked really hard today - he looks totally committed to the cause and I like him in my team.

Agree that Bellamy is a brilliant buy and Robbie was exciting tonight.

One final point, the jury's out on Bridge but give him to the end of the season.

Think we'll win this one, we'll go 2-0 up and then they will pull one back and keep us shitting ourselves to the end.

I've gone for only one holding midfielder as we're at home and given Zab a rest.

....................Given....................
Richards...Dunne...Onuoha...Bridge
..................Kompany..................
..........Ireland..........Elano..........
SWP...............................Robinho
...................Bellamy...................

Subs: Hart, Berti, Zabaleta, Weiss, Sturridge (if injured Garrido), Evans, Caicedo.

2-1 (MC: Richards, Robinho, C: Gronkjaer).

First prediction I got right, except the line up and scorers. :)

City's new midfield of Kompany/Zabeleta gives us a lot more solidity, at a slight cost of chances created.

FC Copenhagen were poor if hard working - but it was good to see City keep their cool, and out-class the opposition rather than sink down to their level.

Great support from the Danes.

read through the match-thread and a bit surprised at the posts questioning Bridge. i thought he was very good today, and provided some great over-lapping runs for Robinho which took away markers from him. he runs the entire flank, and provides quality at both ends. The best crosser in our team - a piy there's no target man to hit

Bellamy MOM, but lots of good performers out there - particularly Robinho, Kompany and Zabeleta

Excellent result, unfortunetely i wasn't there tonight as i was doing 2 hours headbanging with the might metallica at the MEN!!!

was told robinho had his best game in ages and really played with passion and was rather pissed off he didn't score which is nice to as it shows he cares, also told bellers was top notch again, just watched the goals and both superb finishes

sorry i couldn't be there tonight blue boys but well done, i feel the UEFA cup could be coming back to the CoMS this year, keep it goin lads!!!!

Looks like the battle of Manchester City FC versus The Kingdom of Denmark will continue then. Aalborg are a good side but we've obviously been pretty lucky with the draw any way you see it. Deportivo still have a chance of reaching a CL spot so maybe they're focusing on that.

Crap to let in a goal though, but overall a very good game.

Dream final is off though - AC Milan are OUT of the UEFA cup!

Kaka knows a good team eh ???????????????

Arse. lol

Haha, well any way you see it Werder Bremen are a much better team than FCK, but Milan are getting old and tired anyway.

And now they have no money to rebuild :-)

Was a beautiful game! Bellers MOM! Then it has to be Robinho! Everyone played well! I think Kompany looked slightly off but he did play good. Elano came on for a superb Zabaleta and I think Bridge did good. He is great at getting up field and good defender but needs to work on stopping the cross a bit more. He seems to be getting backup when they double team him now.

And look at the teams who went out last night...Valencia, Stuttgart, Florentina, AC Milan, Aston Villa, Spurs, Deportiva La Coruna, Sampdoria, Wolfsburg etc.

The sheer arrogance and complete ignorance of many City fans on here makes me cringe. Like their manager said, Copenhagen had an off-day last Thursday and will be fighting hard for a result so they can play compatriates Aalborg in the last sixteen. They are strengthened by the return of their best player, while arguably ours (Kompany) may be less than 100% fit. Looking at the tie realistically, I would be happy with a 1-1 draw so we go through on the away goals. No way in a million years will it be 3-0 or better like some morons on here predict.

Well i must be completely arrogant and ignorant as i think we've got a good chance of turning them over in style. As long as no one in defence has a brain fart and gifts them a goal that is.

Well unless i'm living in the twilight zone we dominated from start to finish, and the 2-1 score line was really flattering for them. It could of been easilly 5-0 if it weren't for robbie having a vendetta against the goal posts ;-).

It was a great game, the whole team worked hard ... felt really sorry for Robbie not getting a goal (made me laugh when he kicked the post after hitting it again), and Bellamy was running around like a headless chicken. Good to see Bellamy giving Robbie a hug after he gave him that pass to score the 2nd. Kompany I love, absolute class, (commentator said when he did that sudden stop and turn "he thinks he's Robinho"!), Zabba had a great game as well, you can see how hard he is trying to get his next goal, true work horse ..
