Official City v Fulham thread

went to the game today and I like the other City fans were very disappointed - sure a point isn't a bad result but Fulham were there for the taking especialy after our surprise goal. It didn't look like we wanted it enough and sadly Superman and Sweep didn't have their shooting boots on. So many passes went sideways or into touch, there was no movement off the ball and the number of misdirected hoofs up field. Time and again we gave them far too much space... My 5 a side team would get an earful if we played like that. What a missed opportunity. Very, very poor. Only Zab and Hart should be paid this week.

Watched the highlights on Sky. High intensity, physical game that you would not expect from a Fulham v City encounter

Fulham have a reputation for a passing game. Either they've changed under Roy Hodgson, or more likely they thought that City's 'fat cats' would not be able to handle it. We did. We were well organised, and although there weren't that many efforts on goal - it was a game we controlled throughout

If you expected City to win comfortably then I can see why you might have been disappointed, but why why would you expect that when Fulham have lost 1 at home all season, and have just drawn at Liverpool and Villa

Why is Hart getting a thrashing?

Best on ground -- Zab

I thought SWP had a poor game, even where he was playing.

Hart-8
Zaba-9
Dunn-7
TBH-8
Everyone else-5/6
Hughes reckons Ball did a great job so he was probably unfit.
SWP was definitely unfit. Superman needs this week off badly.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game, apart from - of course- the frustration at not capitalising on that early goal. To be honest, I would have taken a draw before the game started given our ever-incresing injury list. I think Hughes is right not to risk Robinho too much, better getting him properly fit rather than fucking him up.

Hart, TBH and Zaba were all great. Dunnie was a real source of strength. Big Vincent was getting stuck in. Shame that Garrido was injured, as this left us with the painfully limited Ball, who only seems to pass in reverse.

Speaking of which, it was a bit frustrating to see the defence constantly passing the ball backwards since there was very little movement in front of them.

Not particularly worried as yet, given the injuries and the oncoming transfer window when I'm sure we'll strengthen.

Sorry to hear the inflatables were confiscated.

Last of all, to the handful (I'm glad I can say it was just a handful) of 'fans' at the back of the stand doing the 'Munich' chants: you're a bunch of twats.

no point singing the m word in a game that has nothing to do with utd now that is sad and pathetic glad i could not hear it on tv.

I thought Vassell put in a good shift covering the right hand side. I know he doesn't offer so much going forward (which is weird seeing as he's meant to be a striker) but they produced hardly anything down their left all game. I know Zab had a stormer but Vass is worthy of a mention in my opinion.

Eid Mubarak, my fellow citizens. On this auspicious eve, I humbly pass on the following comments.

1. Many, if not all, of the players were disappointed with yesterday's result and believed that they should have won the game. I do not know if MH made what would appear to have been unwise comments about expecting a draw, but his assessment is surely better than ours?

2. MH is not a popular figure around the club, mainly due to his perceived arrogance [although quiet men are often accused of this]. Obviously, SGE was hugely popular with most [if not Dr Toxin], but what does that prove?

3. ADUG do not want to be seen as either dishonourable or reactionary, so that any imminent departure of MH seems inconceivable, although so did 1st September 2008 [not a day any of us will ever forget].

4. SWP is delighted to be back with his beautiful family, which, if I may say, shows in his performances.

5. With reference to another post, The purported song 'Oh Manchester is wonderful...' is embarassing sexist drivel from the eighties. Please leave it there. My daughter deserves better when she watches the match.

Peace and love to all the brothers and sisters.

Given the injuries that we have going into this game I thought the result was a fair one.
It was one of those games that we could easily have won, but yet could so easily have lost.
Had we had a full xi to choose from I think we would have easily have won this game.
Fulham have been in good form & it is no disgrace to take a point @ Craven Cottage.

I'm sure Hughes is aware of the teams failings but as mentioned above if you have so many injuries forced upon you their is not a lot he could have done on Satrurday, I know the team selected hardly inspires great confidence but in time this will improve.

I'm quite confident with the sequence of games we have & January only a few short weeks away the team will greatly improve. I think it is important for the fans to get behind Hughes & remain upbeat as I am looking forward to next year with great optimism.

I think we have an average squad tbh. Average players. Not everyone i think we need a transfer window badly and spend some money if MH spends 50 mil + In Summer and were still 10th by next christmas then ill say bye hughes. I just see this season as a wait for better players to come through. I think what talks most in football is money and if you can get one star in the door you can pick a second and build from there. KAKA has said he talks to robihno about city. This doesnt mean he is 1000000000000% coming but big players have influence on others. MH knows he doesnt have the squad he wants. Were good enough to stay out of the bottom 3 till january then we will bring people in and improve. We will wait alot of changes are hopefully coming we will replace who we need to and get stronger. I think our midfeild is flimsy the rags showed that and it was like a breath of fresh air seeing kompany crunch tackle but he seems like a centre back to me and a good one. Stronger midefield and a striker. Theres alot to unload off as well. Now we have the money to bring in alot better players i think the only way is up. Money talks in football. ...Unless you have Juande Ramos then... your stupid

Yes, everyone should sit down and watch the match in complete silence. spontaneity ruins football!
