Official City v Sunderland thread

Yes, but that's generally the exception

Why else would managers harp on about how difficult it is to play in Europe in mid-week, and then the premiership at the weekend.

Remember the rows between Wenger, Benitez, Mourinho etc about the fixture list and playing away games after European ties

......................Given.
Micah......Dunne....Nedum......Bridge
...........Zabba.......De Jong
.SWP.............Ireland...........Robinho
....................Bellamy

Hmm, 6-2.

Sunderland will have enjoyed the night almost as much as us.They will try and play a high tempo game, and run the legs off us

Hopefully Bellamy, Bojinov, and De Jong will be available to play some part.

We get the first goal we should be Ok, but I will be surprised if we win

I will keep Robinho in my team despite my rant on the main forum as we are at home now, I imagine he'll get a hat-trick now as well, although I will drop Kompany as I think he needs a rest.

Team if Komps, Bellers, de Jong, Ireland and Bridge are fit:

...................Given...................
Richards...Dunne...Onuoha...Bridge
..........Zabaleta....de Jong..........
SWP...............................Ireland
.........................Robinho...........
.............Bellamy.......................

Subs: Hart, Bojinov, Elano, Evans, Etuhu, Kompany, Berti.

Replacements if they aren't fit:

...................Given...................
Richards...Dunne...Onuoha...Berti
Etuhu.....Zabaleta....Elano.....SWP
.........................Robinho...........
..........Evans............................

Subs: Hart, Bojinov, Garrido, Caicedo, Clayton, Logan, Weiss.

City 6 (Robinho 3, SWP, Dunne, Bojinov) Sunderland 1 (Richardson).

Could be a tricky one this, as the players looked shattered last night, but thank god we won, the moral of the shoot out win will do us good.

With tiredness, injuries and players not quite match fit, we could struggle but i think we will just do it 2-1.

Its a big game, win and we put abit of space between us and them, and should see us safe, lose and we are right back in the dogfight mix.

I think we'll win 2 - 0. Hughes was not very happy with the display despite us going through and will demand a better performance / result for this game. Sunderland will be right up for it but I think we'll have enough quality players and the fans will be behind them enough for us to get the three points.
