OFFICIAL DEADLINE DAY THREAD!!!!

Why are people so arsed about how much we pay. He would be a stop gap but an effective one no matter what he costs

Well lets see what we do with what we have. Glad to see we were not prepared to be ripped off but somewhat deflated at todays lack of activity.

Happy Ned is still here, happy Elano is still here. Happy with both the departures, especially that Jo is only on loan. Happy we knocked back the bid for Johnson. Pleased we gave Fat Sam nothing.

Signings on the whole have strengthened the squad, although you would expect that having spent £50m+. I suspect none of them (except maybe De Jong) will be regulars in a top 4 side in a few years so I wonder just how effective our business has been.

very happy with the players who have joined

delighted elano seems to have made the grade

glad jo is out BUT completely baffled that we've given everton a boost

disappointed that more didnt leave, and that some youngsters didnt get loans. wtf is evans gonna do til the end of the season?

also gutted, borderline angry, at the lack of a CF.

Very please with our business to be honest. Proven quality all good players. £6 million for Given was a bargain, Bridge £12 million OK. Paid a bit over for Dejong and Bellamy but we need them.

VERY VERY PLEASED we didnt sign RSC. I dont rate him at all and he will prove over the rest of the season he is not up to life in the PL and last year was a one off.

Blackburn may hopefully go down and if Hughes is still with us and we still want him we will be able to pick him up for less than £10 million.

Glad we have not really taken any risks and just brought in proven decent players for reasonable money. Can have a big clear out and proper rebuild in the summer.

I don't see them as our competition this season, so not too bothered.

I think loans to non premier league teams can still happen from next week.

We've done ok this window, I'm pleased. We've made two big statements this window; Firstly the Kaka saga showed our ambition and secondly we won't be forced to pay ridiculous prices for average players. The lads we have brought in will strenghten us drastically, we don't need another center back with De Jong coming in. We now have a big enough squad for a UEFA cup challenge and a top 7 finish.
