**OFFICIAL** hamburg stories thread

Did anyone else come across a Blue on the Repperbaun he was a big guy and very loud, but he was either German or Danish. I didn't imagine it and I wasn't p@ssed.

I had to work today after getting back only late last night and been singing the blues all day long :-)
Cheers to Peely for doing the drive, top lad.
And Corky and Phil, good to meet you lads was a good trip and had a good laugh.
Thanks again

[ Fantastic atmosphere and the train journey was something else! Can't remember a great deal, but there was a lad singing with us who suddenly broke into a rap/poem about city! It was awsome, who was that man? What are those words?!

I was on that carridge on my own, that was the funniest thing i have ever heard, I was literally pissin my self, that bloke was a genius!

Got there on the Sport Options trip, stayed in the Marriott. I remember seeing the square and couldn't believe it. It was like a house party, every time you turned around, someone else was there you knew and if you went for a piss, you'd be back half an hour later because you were chatting to mates and stuff.

I remember shaking hands before the game with loads of Hamburg fans. Some guy gave me his cap before the game. At half time me and me mate Gemma were dancing on the concourse, I lay on my back and shouted "spin me, spin me", which she did, but we were that drunk that I just fell on my side. This was in front of about 20 German riot police, who were pissing themselves, and started chucking money at us.

Managed to get back to the Reeperbahn after some Hamburg fans helped us get the right train. I stopped a dog handler where the trains were, but got a bit close. The dog started going for me and he was shouting "TOOH CLOSE. YOU AH TOOH CLOSE". I just got nearer saying "Trains mate. Trains? There?". Ha ha. By this point the dog was starting to scrape me and was covering me in spit. I work with police dogs, so knew he wouldn't go for me unless he was given a command to do it, so wasn't worried.

Afterwards we just ploughed through the drink the square until we couldn't do it anymore.

I'll just remember the sunshine, the party atmosphere and the great welcome we had by the Hamburg fans and the coppers. Would love to go back to Hamburg to watch a game.
aha! So it was you dicing with death with those police dogs - they didn't like being asked for directions did they!

Got picked up 5am straight off nights, travelled with Flight Options (cheers Spike, great day). Landed at Hamburg straight to the Rennaissance Hotel, wonderful room! Down to the bar couple of drinks, absolutely bollocked so back to bed. After a couple of hours kip, woken by 2 lads from Withenshaw, no they'd not broken into the room, my mate had let them bunk in with us! Merv and ? lit up enough spliffs to send me high. 1 hour later we all meet up at the Reperbaan where I couldn't believe how many city fans there were. Met up with mates under the tree and then straight into the London pub, drinks were cheaper than Denmark. Met some mates from Northwich, had curry and chips then to the underground, one of the funniest train rides I've ever had. Talking to loads of Germans just before the underpass, and walked to the ground. had not got a clue where we were going in and after going into ground was surrounded by 4 arseholes of hamburg fans, 1 said was I an English hooligan and tried to fight, told him to f off and the coppers had already clocked him. Must admit the coppers were great and had everything sorted. Seat in the stadium was higher that Newcastle's ground but had a tremedous view, went bananas when we scored, lost my scarf - whoever's got it, can I have it back? Left with 2 mins to go and went the wrong b way. Eventually got back to the hotel and got some much needed kip. Brilliant day and I'll never forget it.
