Official January 2013 Transfer Update Thread

Reading midfielder Jimmy Kebe has decided to join in on the January transfer rumour mill by making his own up.

Kebe wrote on twitter earlier today, "On my way to Newcastle, having medical then sign a 4 years contract. Thank you all for your support you've been outstanding !!!!" This tweet had already caused a stir on Twitter, in particular Reading fans expressing their thoughts on such a move.

Sky then rang Reading about this and told it was a joke.

But Kebe was quick to reply with the punchline, shortly afterwards tweeting; "Oups i thought if you're french and play football u just pop in to Newcastle and sign a contract, Not a chance of leaving #LoveReadingFc#"

The Reading midfielder's antics had a lot of people talking, and it's great to see that players are enjoying themselves during the January transfer window.

Newcastle United have officially made their fourth signing of the January transfer window - France under-21 international Massadio Haïdara from Ligue 1 club Nancy on a deal until the summer of 2018. The fee has not been disclosed.

Macheda joins Stutgart on season long loan.

Moussa Sissoko joins Newcastle on a 6 1/2 year contract. Him and Yanga-Mbiwa (both extensively watched by City scouts) are really impressive signings for them, not too sure about the other Frenchies they've bought this window. Hopefully they don't settle *too* fast as we still have our home game against them left (after the derby), United already have Newcastle x2 (+1 in the League Cup) out of the way.

According to many of the papers, Peter Odemwingie has put in a transfer request, rejected by WBA. He is apparently the target of QPR.

I think he's not a bad player. Why the hell would you want to swap a progressive team like WBA for one destined for the championship? They must be offering him stupid money.

Trebling them.

If they can get good money its worth doing, he's a cock and he's 31.

They should replace with Hooper or Charlie Austin.
