Fryers spent the summer training with Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a proposed transfer, but the two clubs were unable to agree on a compensation package (in England, when a player under the age of 23 leaves a club at the end of his contract, his new club must pay a fee to his old club as compensation for having trained him up). Belgian club Standard Liège also expressed interest in Fryers, and as they are not an English club, they did not have to pay Manchester United compensation.[9] On 23 August 2012, Standard Liège announced that Fryers had signed a two-year contract with the club

Is he any good?

He is almost 20 and has made 2 league appearances for United and 5 for Standard, was touted as one of the new fledglings or whatever alongside Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba. Funny that the only one who looks like he will be a decent player is Pogba and they can hardly claim that he is an academy produced player. He will fit in very nicely at spurs they seem to have an army or young players in their squad who have slim chances of making the first team.
