Official Oasis / Beady Eye / Noel Gallagher thread

Surely I can't be the only big Oasis fan who is seriously underwhelmed by this? I'm expecting better things from the album.

I think if you're going into it half-expecting it to be like any Oasis stuff then you're bound to be underwhelmed.

I think its going to be along the lines of the unplugged gig Noel did a couple of years ago for the Teenage Cancer Trust. He said in an interview recently that there isn't a guitar solo till the 7th track on the album, he did say he would have changed it if he'd noticed before then, which suggests its going to be different to the type of album Oasis released. It'll be interesting to see what the full album is like.

Going to be a truly amazing album

Markt85 - Yeah, there's enough already on youtube to get excited about. Noel said he'd re-recorded Stop The Clocks and I Want to Live in a Dream... in a different key, but must admit I thought IWTLIAD was pretty poor ''i want to live in a dream with my record machine...'' awful lyrics. I've got high hopes for Everybody's on the Run and If I had a Gun though, the youtube clips sound promising. I'm sure it'll leak online well before the October release date, it did with Beady Eye's album.

Hopefully,

IWTLIAD i like, but Stop the Clocks does not need changing !

Noel Gallagher thought Beady Eye song 'The Roller' would be a "mega" hit for Oasis.

The 44-year-old rocker believed the track - which reached number 31 in the UK singles chart after being released by his brother Liam Gallagher's new band, who are also made up of Noel's former bandmates Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and Andy Bell - would be a big hit for the Manchester group, but it never became more than a demo.

He said: "'The Roller', yeah, I always thought was gonna be a f***ing mega, mega hit for Oasis, but it never got past the demo stage.

"I remember playing drums on a version of 'The Roller'. I've always liked that song. So there's a version of that with me on it somewhere in the vaults."

The former Oasis guitarist recognises a number of tracks from Beady Eye's debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding', including 'Millionaire', which he had to reject as an Oasis song because he thought it made the group sound like The Charlatans.

Noel added to NME magazine: "'The Morning Son' has been around for the best part of five years. I'd heard a few of those tunes [on 'Different Gear, Still Speeding'] before.

"'Millionaire' was gonna be on the last record, but I just cringed at the line, 'You've just got to know yourself'. I was like, 'Nooooo, not f***ing having that.' I thought it sounded like The Charlatans."
