If you make songs like:
Colour My Life
Rock'n'Roll Star
Colombia
Round Our Way
Headshrinker
Who Feels Love?
Gas Panic
Better Man (from Heathen Chemistry, not to be confused with Its Gettin Better Man!)
The Meaning of Soul
Falling Down
Soldier On
..then it doesn't matter what else you do, you are one of the greatest bands in the history of music. The Rolling Stones and The Beatles produced dozens and dozens, if not hundreds, of fucking AWFUL music (and I don't mind either band!). As have hundreds of other bands over time who also make good music. Oasis are just another like that (most of What's the Story... and Be Here Now is fucking soft pop shithouse music, the songs Little James, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Let There Be Love and Shock of the Lightning are all terrible songs!). But Oasis rank as one of the greatest ever bands and one of my favourites too!

And no band, anywhere, ever has ever had a front man as good as Liam Gallagher. No band! Stage presence, dress sense and style, no need for fucking about or running around like a dick, his voice on the Maine Road gig There and Then is unrivalled, top bloke who sings in his own accent and isn't an American wannabe like hundreds of other front men.

No matter what anyone says I know Oasis were brilliant and I know my music!

love oasis but you are talking utter shite

Freddie Mercury, Morrissey, Ian Brown, Kurt Cobain and Ian Curtis were all more iconic frontmen than Liam Gallagher. He can't really be compared to such genius because he contributed so little to the songwriting.

And you left out Jagger, Bono, Plant, Coverdale etc etc out of that list as well. Liam is good at what he does, but the best ever frontman?

I'm from a more alternative music background so my list, with the exception of Freddie Mercury, is never going to include Bono or Mick Jagger.

Just thought of David Bowie, too. Even Liam Gallagher knows he's not fit to share the same stage as Bowie.

THE best front man EVER was, is, and always will be, Morrissey.

Far more talented, better song writer but no where near as influential as Liam

-- Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:24 pm --
