Re: Official Oasis thread

You know at the end of 'Whatever'? I swear I hear someone shout "Come on City!!!" among all the whooping? Can anyone confirm this?

The band that (sort of) brought me up. Before Definitely Maybe, I was running round in football kits, shell suit bottoms and caps and listening to M People and Culture Beat. Afterwards I was wearing shirts, supping in Conservatory, Horts' and Henry's, listening to the Stone Roses and The Jam (on Noel's say so) and pissing my Dad off by voting Labour in. I still think the Stone Roses first album is the best music I've ever heard but I was 11 when it came out so didn't get the benefit of it. Oasis were THE band of my time. Musically, I accept they weren't the best but they had the gift of making people feel awesome. I watched Glastonbury the other week and was embarrassed for Bono. What a fucking knobhead. Liam pisses all over him in the cool stakes.

Oasis are quite simply my favourite ever band.
Agreed. Until I was about 13 I listened to all shitty chart stuff and rap some of which I suppose was alright-ish, and since proper getting into Oasis and not just the main few songs it's led me to The Stone Roses and other Manc bands, and other bands from before my time like the Jam and even the Beatles. Fifa soundtracks also helped me ease into a few because I was familiar with songs like Fools Gold, A Town Called Malice, LSF and Blue Monday.

''How sweet it is to be an idiot'' sounds very much like ''im free to be whatever i '' ... other than that, its a totally different song

nothing will come close to this version

Re: Official Oasis thread

Citykev28 pretty much summed it up for me...soundtrack to my teenage/early drinking days!
Before they come along it was pretty dire, the stone roses were before my time (altough loved them!) and Oasis just smashed it for me!

Whilst on the topic of Oasis...there was a thread on here maybe a year or so back regarding an Oasis tshirt which looked a bit like the city badge (heaton park gig)..
Anyway I ordered two off the internet and when they come they were well too small for me!
Anbody interested in buying them pm me.
Never wore them due to being a fat fu*ker and only want what I paid for them (i paid 25 for both of them)
Shame really because they are smart as fook...probably fit a small/medium chappy!
