Put the Daily Mail, the Mirror and the Torygraph away Eccles and form an opinion of your own rather than reflecting what they want you to believe.
They're just trying to do what the rest of the media are doing. Build ridiculously high expectations so when he fails to meet them they can use it against him.

He created 163 chances over the past 3 seasons, no U21 player in Europe's top five leagues has more. Did we pay too much? Yes, but who cares, Sheikh Mansour certainly won't lose any sleep, he's worth something like £16bn. Do you think he cares that Joe from Bolton thinks City are overpaying. He's probably worth around 30-35 million but there's always gonna be an English premium for not only the best 20 year old in the premier league but maybe even the world, can't think of one better. That is the damning verdict of Anfield legend Phil Thompson who reckons fans will be glad to see the back of the youngster following his £49million move to Manchester City.
And the European Cup-winning captain contrasted the reaction with the fans’ disappointment when Luis Suarez left and says Sterling is not in the same league as the Uruguayan.
