There was a contract dispute between Quilmes who he left Cerro for and Cerro over who held the registration for the player. It turned out that Iturbe had to go back to Cerro, but by then the bridges were burnt between club and player. Cerro were just happy enough to get something for the player, which they wouldn't have done if Quilmes had won the dispute. Also, £1.5m for a club from Paraguay is deemed quite an amount of cash.
