Brazil tonight did not show World Cup winnner form

They cheated their way through that game and , with that pathetic weak ref, the Croatians were well and truly mugged off

FFS

ABB for me, now

Did the ref swap shirts with Neymar?

I've got a feeling that this was probably the first of several appalling refereeing 'performances' in Brazil matches. Embarrassing.

Yup there was absolutely no way Brazil were not going to get out of their group, they are one of the money makers. Fifa couldn't have all those millions of Brazilians not tuning in. Once they come up against a good side though, no ref will be able to stop them losing. Full of over rated garbage.

If you truly believe it is bent then why watch it ?

Some of these decisions are to be expected in favour of a home nation in world cup.

Some weak refereeing tonight and a mistake for the penalty. it doesn't make it bent.

Not a criticism of you, as your point is fair, but I think it would be very naive to believe there is no corruption in World Cup outcomes. There is corruption in every other aspect of the tournament (and every other industry, for that matter).

What I mean to say, is it takes far more blind faith to believe it is a completely clean tournament.

Go and put your life savings on Brazil to win it then.

I don't think it would go that far. But I am convinced FIFA will assure Brazil win their group.

Ignoring all the other stuff, I thought both sides were poor. All 4 of Brazils defenders were awful (especially Alves), while Paulinho, Hulk and Fred had a competition as to who could touch the ball the least. Croatia were very dissapointing, no balance in midfield, weak in the tackle and the poor lad at LB was awful, that's before even mentioning the shocking keeper. I expected a lot more from both teams, but I'll let Brazil off with the nerves excuse, as the pre match scenes were pretty monumental, so I can possible forgive them getting a bit tense.

Only really Oscar, Gustavo and Perisic did much to impress, everyone else was very dissapointing

Not sure if serious

Does anyone else feel that if the refereeing is so bent that you get more frustrated than entertained, it's time to watch something else?

Expected descions.......no no and no. That is wrong

It may be "wrong" but they are not automatons. It was ever thus and shall ever be in future.

You and others make out that this is a new phenomena when it patently is not.

Irrespective of whether Hursts shot was over the line in 66, do you think the best part of 100,000 partisan fans had an impact upon the decision ?

Yes, of course they did.

Gustavo was actually pretty awful and would be facing a retrospective ban if this was a league match.

Otherwise I agree.

Bad refereeing aside, Brazil are utter gash, and a half decent Championship side would have beaten them tonight.
They are very mediocre, and just how they are favourites based on tonight's display is beyond me.

Really? I'd have thought tonight's display was the perfect illustration why they're favourites. Pens and 50/50s all the way to the final!

Agree about the team though. Very short on ideas for a team with so much supposed talent. I don't really understand what sort of team they're trying to be. They sure as shit can't defend but their attack has Hulk in it, who could win the award for most ineffectual footballer pretty much everytime I've seen him play. It's all very odd.

I'll fight them to the death!

This ^^^

I cannot believe what I have just heard the clearly embarrassed (and usually a bit braver) Collymore trying to back the cowardly ref's performance
