Oh Dear KFC What were you thinking????

To be honest, I find it very difficult to seperate today's Germany from the horrendous behaviour of the Germany people of those years. Its seems unfathomable that a country was decent enough until the early 30s when they went rabid before returning to be lovely folk by the late 40s.

But then again they aren't the only people to have this transition from ok to evil to lovely-jubbly.

Some probably find it hard to forgive us Irish for what was carried out in our name. And far more probably find it hard to forgive the British further sins of the past.

It's just hard to get who people can be so barbaric when most of the time most of the people are sound as a pound.
I blame France (of the time) to a large extent for Versailles and the US and UK (same, both learned their lessons by the time of WW2 and put it right as much as they could) for not putting their foot down and stopping it. Plus at some stage you have to let bygones be bygones. I don't think the Germans of today should be held accountable for the Nazis to any extent, any more than I hold the Brits responsible for the famines in Ireland and India.

I've liked all the Germans I've ever met and rationally I don't blame the current population. But I do find it difficult to not have an unconscious bias... for example I hate seeing the Dortmund's yellow wall because it's unnerving to see a German crowd acting in perfect unison (whereas when I saw the Iceland support doing their thing I had no gut reaction so obviously being unfair or possibly racist).

No it wasn't, was an automated push notification from their calendar. Still though someone's fault for not checking, but who does in this day and age?
Yep, somebody still has to set them up.

The fact that nobody did/does check on such things, if that turned out to indeed be the case, suggests that nobody really does give a shit.

Possibly worse than an individual oversight or lack of understanding.

If anything not racist but maybe slighlty xenophobic *unconsiously as you say) as it is a phobia/dislike of a country, plus genetically the British and Irish are a mix or germanic, nordic and celt so we are at genetic a level the same as any other northern european so Irish, German, English, Dutch etc we are all the same race and people.

It is our languages that differ Gaelic is Celtic while English is Germanic and how our cultures have evolved through historical experiences.

On a human level what happened to germany in the 30s any country have could happen to them given the right circumstances, as a species we adapt very quickly to what becoms collectively acceptable and many will not question but just follow.

Honestly having worked with germans and travelled there a few times I have not experienced any that were cunts yet, cannot say the same about the french though ;-)

Everyone though has xenophobia about somewhere be it uncousious or direct, it is again a human trait and experiences of either the places or their histories will nurture such, I have been shown such tendancies in the past, we all do though some cannot admit it.

There's very few countries that don't have skeletons in their closets. Dig deep enough, and you'll probably find something shitty. With some countries, you don't have to dig that deep.

It’s easy to divide people as we are constantly reminded of our forefathers mistakes, we are inherently unconciously evil and racist.
Thanks to Adam and Eve
Now adam and eve have been scientifically traced back to over 100000 yrs and were part of a major population density of humans I think it is unfair to blame 2 people out of the thousands alive at that time.

plus it was probably adam as he was a wrong un, ask lilith ;-)

I guess that can only be because of a learned bias from your parents.

There are probably under 3 million people worldwide that remember WW2.

As generations pass, less and less people will feel that unconscious bias. What are your feelings about the Boer War or even WW1?

To be clear, I don’t think that Kristallnacht should be celebrated in any way, ever.
