Oh Dear KFC What were you thinking????

I guess that can only be because of a learned bias from your parents.

There are probably under 3 million people worldwide that remember WW2.

As generations pass, less and less people will feel that unconscious bias. What are your feelings about the Boer War or even WW1?

To be clear, I don’t think that Kristallnacht should be celebrated in any way, ever.
As less people feel the bias there's also a danger that they become uneducated or uncaring of the past horrors. Which obviously has the danger of them not being aware to how they could be part of something awful in the future.

I've learned most of my bias from film I'd say...not from those I knew who were from that era. I'm so glad I've never had to personally endour cruelty...of war or anything else. Most of us are so so lucky.

So propaganda, in essence?

We've shown repeatedly as a species that we don’t learn from history.

I'm not sure where the line of propaganda is crossed anymore. I watched "Come and See" the other day. To me it was clearly "anti-war" (mirroring Ukrainians suffering Russian invasion this year) but maybe some in Russia watching it would see it as "pro-Russia v Nazis" (justifying the Russian invasion)?

It was horrible but worth seeing.

Sure, and some films will totally capture the feelings of war superbly, some will spin stories to make them better films and others will have total artistic licence and have limited correlation with what really happened.

Your first point is hugely true these days. A lot of people don’t know who or what to trust these days ad some are putting their faith in the people capable of creating such division that could eventually lead us into our next big war.

Post-war propaganda and historical rhetoric is and has always been owned by the victors of the war.

Big company trying to monetise grief shocker, because everyone loves fried chicken people will just shrug their shoulders and carry on eating the crap this company dish out as food.

Germans seem to be mostly deeply ashamed of their history.
As regards the Holocaust the Germans found collaboration in all the nations they occupied. If I'm not mistaken the fascists in Romania killed hundreds of thousands of Jews themselves as did Croatia.
I don't think mankind will ever completely recover from these hideous events.
As for the yellow wall in Dortmund:

Had the misfortune to have a mega bucket meal tonight. Had to buy the gravy separately at £1.56!!!!! Anyway, the taste and smell of grease is still lingering some six hours after eating the stuff! Won’t be buying one of them again. 3/10
Had a double Whopper meal last weekend from Burger King which was infinitely better though the Whopper was barely hot it scored extra points for dealing with my hangover post-derby. 8/10
Next up is a McDonalds for a Big Tasty, fries and vanilla milkshake. That will complete the triumvirate of fast food franchises. I expect McDonalds to come out on top and as absolutely nobody is interested I won’t be reporting back next week so fuck right off.
