OK,... YOU are now Manchester City's new manager.........

The team we put out should have slaughtered Villa
The players available should have done but not with a central 3 of Suarez, Razak and Barry.

System was changed again eventually but the die had been cast. It's been a bad fortnight with bad results in 3 competitions with Mancini making mistakes but that doesn't make him a bad manager

IF Silva still having a nightmare replace him with Barry or Milner to play as DM, and push Yaya forward.

yaya should never be played as a defensive midfielder he isnt mobile enough for that position, you need a snappy terrier of a player like de jong,,with that team we would win 10-8 every match :)
tevez city for manager.

Without looking at any other posts.

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Yaya, Barry, Silva, Nasri, Tevez, Aguero

4-2-3-1

Kind of familiar looking isn't it.

I'd go along with this, with the exception of Richards for Zabaleta when he gets fit. If anyone needs a rest then rotate them, but do it one at a time and make it like for like. The telling thing is that none of our summer signings would make my first choice starting line up, and Sinclair wouldn't get on the bench.

Surely it can't just be a question of formation can it? I would have thought that a top class manager and a squad of international players should be able to perform to different team set-ups when required? Are they not highly trained professionals who can adapt a playing style to suit conditions even within a game itself?

I would put the current problems down to either motivation or under/over confidence. At the end of the day, that is what Mancini is paid to deal with.

Having more possession of the ball is best form of defending, with these players I don't think Yaya will defend a lot, he will be the the link between the back four and the play makers Silva & Nasri.

but we need to win the ball to gain possesion

If I was manager I would get every player and the coaching staff in a room and watch the champions dvd. Then show them every game from this season.

Say nothing and just get everyone to leave and come to training the next day.

I think it would really hit the players and turn us around.

First off, I'd speak to each player individually and ask him why he thought the team was underperforming and how he could dig a bit deeper for the team and the fans. I'd find out any tactics, moves , etc he'd picked up at previous clubs that he felt worked particulalry well and his preferred position given the choice.

After that I'd try to work on fitting as much of this in as possible given other player's strengths/weaknesses and current form, etc.

I'd play this team and formation if fit and available:

...............................Hart

Richards......Kompany..........Lescott.....Clichy

...............................Barry
................Nasri......................Yaya
...............................Silva

......................Aguero.......Tevez
