The Temple and the Premier in Cheetham Hill were my regular haunts plus sometimes the Essoldo in Belle Vue after a day out there. Then there was the Gaumont & the Odeon in town, plus the one near the Gaumont whose name I've forgotten where they showed cartoons and newsreels.

Edit: It was the Tatler, which is now the Cornerhouse.

Few and far between now. The multiplexes took over and the bingo moved in. Our local cinema 'The Roxy' in Hollinwood got demolished in 2007.

Anyone remember Lurch?

The Mayfair in Whitefield was my local cinema when I was a kid..
Proper place, full of poppets and fruit pastiles in boxes...
