Old long forgotten City songs

See The Kippax in its splendour...
We're after the blood of a Stretford ender

We do no carry razors
We do not carry lead
We only carry hatchets
To bury in their head
We are not supporters
We're fanatics every one
We hate Man united, leeds & everton

We've been to Wembley
We've been to stoke
We've been to old toilet
What a fcuking joke
We've been on the leazes
We've been on the shed
We are the Kippax Boys

Denton Boys we are here..whoa...whoa

Denton boys we are here
Reminded me of the bus journey home from maine road. HAPPY DAYS

Anyone remember this to the tune of 'I love to go a wandering'?
"We're on the road to Wemberlee,
to see Man City play,
and if you go to Manchester,
you'll hear Joe Mercer say, Wemberlee...... Wemberlee......etc" It sounded great with a solid bunch of blues chanting it through the tunnel at the back of the old Main Stand at Stamford Bridge but didn't quite catch on as I thought it would.

When we used to play Liverpool at Anfield in the 80s - a time of mass unemployment. To the tune of their anthem "You'll never walk alone" "Sign on...Sign on with pen in your hand and you'll never work again" all done with arms raised, clutching tenners and swaying in the breeze.
All in time for our usual 0-3 twatting from them.

We also had,and indeed still have a large contingent of Jewish people who are City fans.
Moss Side housed large numbers of Jews at one time and some of those families are still blues, but they live in Alderley Edge now! It was our large Jewish following that made Bert’s signing such an issue.
Back in the fifties we kids used to refer to Yidsbury and Palestine Road. Disgraceful but we knew no better then.
North Manchester Jews were centered on Cheetham Hill.

In the late 60`s, just after kick off and coming out of the corner between the Main Stand and Platt Lane, literally 100`s of coppers would walk around the pitch towards the Kippax.
In those days a madman shot and killed 3 police officers I think it was.
As soon as they entered the ground the Kippax would sing ;
"Harry Roberts is our friend,is our friend,is our friend
Harry Robers is our friend
He kills coppers".
I was only in my late teens in those days and feel embarrassed to admit that yes I was one of those idiots who along with thousands more Kippax lads, actually joined in with those moronic words.
You should get a sine die! (Oh and me too).
