It helps if people put the title of the tune that these deathless lyrics are sung to. (e.g. "We all hate reds and reds and reds and reds" etc. to the Dam Busters march by Eric Coates, or "We hate Nottingham Forest, we hate Liverpool too" sung to the Pomp and Circumstance march No 1, aka Land of Hope & Glory, by Edward Elgar.)
I don't know if anyone has mentioned the one by Elias and his Zigzag Jive Flutes, "Tom Hark", with our words "United sing, we don't know why, cos after the match, they're gonna die".
Another from the 60s "Lots of lads & lasses there, all with smiling faces, ganning along to Mai-n-e Road....to see Joe Mercer's aces", sung to the tune of "Blaydon Races".
Another from the 65-66 promotion season - "Going up to Division One, Allelujah, Johnny Crossan will take us there, Alle- looooooo - ya", to the tune of "Michael row the boat ashore".
Another one based on "Son of my Father" - "Oh, wanky wanky, wanky wanky wanky wanky Stapleton"( in response to Utd fans' "Oh Frankie Frankie....)
And of course the 1966 hit by Sandpipers, "Guantanamera", spawned any number of songs by every club's fans ("One Gary Owen, there's only one Gary Owen". Some names didn't fit, though, e.g Neil Young, Shaun Wright-Phillips. "One Buster Phillips" does scan, though. Thank God there was only one of him. Or one Gerry Creaney.
