Yes I remember that day I was one of those sat in the Kippax,13 at the time did a few away games on local coach with my mates that season Preston,Bury,Rotherham,Huddersfield and the 4-0 defeat at Bolton Wynn Davies getting a couple.Never missed home games and also did Central league. There was so few of us we sat down in the Kippax to watch the game.
Looked like a decent crowd in the Kippax. And how good were the shirts before sponsorship?

I was at that Bolton game too. I remember Davies flattening Alf Wood from behind without being seen by the officials. I was in the sunken paddock close to the railway embankment end and their right back Hartle came over to get the ball for a throw in. That would normally invite a few choice comments made towards that gentleman but the size of his thighs and his wrestlers arms meant that silence was the best option.Yes I remember that day I was one of those sat in the Kippax,13 at the time did a few away games on local coach with my mates that season Preston,Bury,Rotherham,Huddersfield and the 4-0 defeat at Bolton Wynn Davies getting a couple.Never missed home games and also did Central league.

Gary owenI remember been at Bolton, there was a city fan nearly as big as giant haystacks.
He couldn’t get in via turnstiles so they opened an exit gate for him.
