I took a mate of mine to the old maine road, he was a cov fan, he thought the atmosphere was beyond belief, he still talks about it . I think it was the 5-0 Leicester game some time in the 90`s ?

It is true, I was in the platt lane at my 1st Derby and remember them climbing up from the platt lane end of the Kippax roof up on to the gantry on the Kippax roof

Great photo . Snow on the terraces. Would never be allowed nowadays. How on earth did we survive those times ?

Great memory of being a kid, freezing cold or raining, wrapped up warm, bus from Wythenshawe then legging it to Moss side bus depot after the game where all the buses were lined up to take you home, all going in different directions. It was quick and easy back then. Now we have trams, buses, trains, all singing and dancing apps, health and safety and it's a nightmare. Progress eh?

That’s interesting. I don’t recall the Platt Lane ever having reserved seats. I thought it was always sit where you like. Unless the numbers were purely for keeping track on how many they’d sold?

Occasionally for cup semi finals and other games allocated seats would be needed. There were also some seats with Season Ticket painted on so that someone who had bought that space would have their seat saved.
