Buying a house for cash was harder, but the checks when paying large amounts of cash in to the bank were pretty non-existent. So cleaning money was much easier. So plenty of houses back then will have been bought via criminality, whether in readies, or washed readies.

correct fair play to people who took the photos so we can rekindle the memories has anyone got pictures of the mammoth tv waggons and cabling parked at the corner of the main/north stand to indicate City were on the Box Happy Days

One of those bottom cabins was used by gmp.

For a couple of seasons when my mate and I were about 12 or so we would go to the shop for them, Milk, newspapers, sweets etc and they would let us in for free!

Result ,apart from people calling us grasses haha!

And ,I'll say it again,that final goal from Stewart.wow. dummies the defender on the turn ,on the half way line,then running at break neck speed..(.towards the away end ) ,decides to finish with the outside of his right foot ,plum , low into the far corner of the net ,then runs straight to Blues for adulation. What a Brilliant goal,brilliant night,......and I wasn't there!! One of the few I missed around that time.

I don't think I've ever seen a footballer finish with the outside of his foot whilst running full pelt ,half the length of the pitch ,...Brilliant.
Stewart had a surly arrogance about himself on the pitch....but he could obviously back it up.
One of my fav ever Mel Machin era goals that.

Pre-drone era (obviously), so I'd be a bit curious to know how those were taken. Crane? Helicopter?! Taken by that guy who does those insane free-climbing stunts to the top of the world's tallest buildings in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai?
Great images, by the way. Shows everything you need to know about how rooted Maine Rd was in its community. Honestly, I've never rediscovered that feeling with the Etihad, but hey, times have moved on, football has changed hugely. No more schoolboys entrance (or simply jibbing it!) — not through those electronically controlled turnstiles with stewards standing by them…
The day they install facial recognition, I'm out. I mean it.
