The Phoenix was a death trap! Decent place though.
My late teens were spent getting thrown out of Scruples in Oldham. Lovely!

And falling down the steep stairs?
They were a fucking deathtrap!
Yeah they were! Especially after a session which started at 12 midday! Got a scar on my back from being 'assisted' out of Scruples. When I shower and feel it, it reminds me how happy I am being a 33 year old family man, and how those days as a rowdy booze hound are long gone! (Wouldn't change the memories no, no chance).

The photograhers is a blue too

...saw my fave gig of all time there.

Dead Kennedys when I was about 16ish my older brov who was at the poly took me and a mate - it was a bizarre evening of clothing related incidents. Firstly I had made my own DKs tshirt with splashed bleach and paint, some old scary pissed punk kept demanding that I gave it to him, even trying to physically rip the thing off me. (managed to escape). Secondly Jello Biafra threw his (rather awful blue v-neck jumper in to the crowd and I got it. whilst hugely oversized for me I wore it for years, though lord knows where it is now.....
