Old songs

Yes - Norwich & Ipswich in October 1976. I did quite a long story on this in a talk I did at the Dancehouse in April last year and I've a page on it in my Manchester City Folklore book (page 37 for anyone who has it). It was first aired (without words) at Ipswich (based on a showing of The Vikings on ITV in London a few days before) and then the next game was away at Norwich and it was aired there too (Granada TV had shown the film on the Wednesday before that game).
Cheers for clearing that up Gary. Knew it was first aired on a long train journey to either Suffolk or Norfolk and it had been on the telly a few nights earlier. I went to both so probably was the Ipswich rather than Norwich match I remember. For a memory of over 40 years ago I wasn't that far out. ;-)

Possibly the worst song we ever had:
John bond we love you
John bond we do
Even when you’re far away we think of you
And one day when we’re champions we’ll look back and say
There’s no one quite like john bond
He has helped us on our way.

WTF! Thank god I never heard our own rendition of Saint Winifred's Choir singing that shite! whoever started it should have been hung from the nearest Kippax RSJ lintel. Embarrassing.
