I think they tried to sing it between a few mates.
But they let one sing on his own. He stopped after the first sentence
And it was finished off by someone else. Who put so much gusto into his part that everyone laughed and started singing it.

There was an awkward pause in between as everyone looked at the first lad.

Even better. Although they did have some success from 2005 to 2013. But the 10 years without a Premier League trophy sounds better since it was the banner they mocked us for until Aguero scored that beauty of a goal that made them look like muppets on the day.
