Old TV Series You Remember Fondly ...

Anyone else recall the Kelly Monteith sketch comedy show from the late 70s/early 80s?

Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet.

Absolutely adored this show, growing up. My mum used to let me stay up to watch it with her. Even now I'll gladly whittle away hours, watching it.
Also got to include these.
The Equalizer
Nightrider
Street hawk
Air wolf
Bread
Married with children
Making out
Quantum leap

I recall that the Scouse comedian Tom O'Connor used to do a ten to 15 minute sketch show straight after Look North which was always quite funny. I particularly enjoyed his naughty elf-tales .... wonder if any copies are around on YouTube?

Wouldn't mind watching them again!

Thing is they were FUNNY and no-one was obsessed with everyone taking (or faking) offence at every comment or innuendo. I grew up watching these programmes but still know the difference between outright nasty racism and things that were meant lightheartedly.

I recently watched It Was Alright In The 70s and got so annoyed at all the fake shock and over the top reactions from a bunch of 'alternative' (i.e. Unfunny) comedians/comediennes and z-list celebs who, from their facial expressions, made you think every 70's comedy referencing colour contained a KKK lynching scene or that every camp character was engaged in on-screen hardcore gay porn!!!
bloody good post.

Van der valk... not looked through whole thread but great series, strangely on after school, as could fit in a morse type slot if beefed up slightly, think the theme tune hit the charts too. loved it.
