This is a loss. He's a fantastic part of the squad, gives us something different at fullback and has the ability to play elsewhere if needs be. We need players like that in the squad and we don't have many if any left with his departure.
I don't see bringing in a natural left back to play understudy to Cancelo as an improvement on the squad either if they're just going to be a lesser cancelo. Zinchenko was different, he showed that when he came on against Villa.
Also, £32 million is way too cheap. If Cucurella is costing us £50 million after one good season at Brighton, he's got to be in the same ballpark.
